Feeling better

At the Adventist Medical Centre in Hong Kong, Kvadrat textiles are specified in diverse areas to contribute towards physical and mental well-being. Unlike traditionally all-white medical spaces, the interior harnesses the sensuous, healing power of colour and texture throughout.

The design concept originates from Adventist Health’s branding colour pink with a twist, which relates wellness to natural scenery. It borrows the materiality and ambience of a canyon and a lake to radiate a sense of security and warmth.

VIP sofas in a secret part of the oval lobby, which offers comfortable seating and its own refreshment bar, are upholstered with Steelcut 3. Broken Twill Weave is specified on the seating in the main waiting area for registration and on corner sofas in the F&B (Food and Beverage) lounge.

Furthermore, Avalon brings a velvety presence to the CDC, (Centre for Disease Control and Prevention) It is employed in signature green onyx shades across an expansive cushion wall.

Adventist Medical Centre subverts the typically white and clinical medical interiors, which patients and visitors often find cold due the absence of natural and human touches. Instead, the space offers a scale of harmonic pink and beige tones and textural rhythms that calm body and mind.
