Unilever Germany headquarters
Project
Kvadrat textiles have been chosen for the interior of Unilever’s new headquarters in Germany – one of the most sustainable buildings in the world. The choice of textiles was important for the architects, as furnishings play a key role in bringing their concept - ‘vibrant interaction and fostering a feeling of togetherness’ - to life. The building is lit almost completely by LEDs and features a heat recovery installation on the roof: it sets new standards in energy management. The central element is the large atrium, flooded by daylight.
Solution
Different Kvadrat curtains and upholstery, more than 5000 metres in total, are used throughout the building. The colours all fit perfectly with the colour scheme conceived for the interior.
Curtains: Lotta, Sun Out
Upholstery: Orange, Cava, Highfield, Divina
'We chose Kvadrat as a partner for this project, as their standards are of the highest quality and they offer a wide array of creative products. We knew they would allow us to find optimal solutions quickly. The colour scheme for the building was last, but not least, realised through the textiles on the furnishings. Therefore Kvadrat’s ability to deliver textiles that perfectly fitted the colour scheme was particularly important, in terms of the overall architectural picture.' Behnisch Architekten
