Solution
Haku with a custom leather-like expression and colour specified on bed headboards and base, round ottomans, and wall panels. Diverse furniture upholstered in Broken Twill Weave, Field 2 and Steelcut 3 by Kvadrat, Gentle 2 by Kvadrat Febrik, and Moss and Safire by Sahco.

Jumeirah Marsa Al Arab, located on Dubai's coastline between the Jumeirah Burj Al Arab and Jumeirah Beach Hotel, recalls the silhouette of a superyacht. The resort’s textile-rich interior integrates refined, maritime-inspired materials, and includes a constellation of custom and standard Kvadrat designs.

Haku – specified in a custom colour with a leather-like texture and a special FR treatment – is employed on ribbed, padded wall panels, as well as on the headboards and bases of beds, and on padded ottoman pouffes. The architects chose Haku because it was the only textile that could deliver the elevated touch and high performance required for the demanding application.

Diverse lounge chairs and sofas are also upholstered in an array of Kvadrat textiles, which align with the vision of using warm, elegant hues that contrast with the blue shades of the sea. The textiles are Broken Twill Weave, Field 2 and Steelcut 3 by Kvadrat, Gentle 2 by Kvadrat Febrik, and Moss and Safire by Sahco.

The final piece in an architectural trilogy, Jumeirah Marsa Al Arab has won the prestigious "Project of the Future" award at the Identity Design Awards 2024. The 155,000 sqm resort offers diverse settings, providing opportunities for guests to engage with various environments, from serene garden walks to refined social spaces and subtly opulent guest rooms.
