Project
Kvadrat fabrics are used throughout the head office of Praktikertjänst, Sweden’s largest provider of private health and dental care. The company moved into the refurbished office in Stockholm in 2013. The head office has been designed to focus on the Praktikertjänst brand and to support processes that facilitate effective, rewarding ways of working. It comprises 340 workstations, as well as a variety of common spaces such as the dining room/cafeteria, the auditorium and a conference centre.
Sustainability was another key focus area for the project furniture has been reused and many original details have been preserved. For instance, the old timber chairs in the canteen have been restored and re-upholstered.
Solution
Kvadrat textiles Flora, Hallingdal, Highfield, Remix, Steelcut and Steelcut Trio and Stripes by Maharam are used on furniture and cushions throughout the head office. For example, the restored chairs in the canteen are given a new identity by Highfield. Clara is used for privacy panels in working areas. Curtains made from Ginger feature throughout the office, notably in conference rooms and lounges.
‘The project’s concept was ‘tradition modern’. With this in mind, the vision was built on an ambience of natural materials, which have a long life span and will age beautifully. The interior design has an atmosphere of warmth, well-being and care. The materials, including those from Kvadrat, are tactile and give a feeling of skilled carpentry and craftsmanship.’ Magnus Fredin, Owner/ Architect at NOOA
