The key to this collaboration was not only in the visual harmony of the textiles but also in their technical capabilities. Both Remix 3 and Hallingdal 65, composed largely of wool, are designed with acoustics in mind. Wool, a naturally dense material, has excellent sound-absorbing properties, making it an ideal choice for audio products where clear, immersive sound is paramount. Kvadrat’s engineering ensured that these textiles would enhance the listening experience by allowing sound waves to travel through the material with minimal distortion.
The woollen textiles chosen for the Beoplay A6 and Beosound Stage were engineered to support Bang & Olufsen's high-performance sound systems, while also offering a warm, understated aesthetic that aligns with the brand's design principles. By developing custom textiles, with their refined colours and acoustic properties, B&O ensured their products had a timeless design. They are beautiful without being ostentatious, and functional without compromising on style.
In this partnership, Kvadrat’s contribution went beyond providing textiles. Our collaboration was paramount in shaping how Bang & Olufsen’s products sound, feel, and look in the home. The subtle colours of Remix 3 and Hallingdal 65 blend effortlessly into contemporary interiors, while their acoustic performance enhances the rich, immersive sound that Bang & Olufsen is known for. The result is a perfect balance between form and function, where every detail serves a purpose.
