The ECCO office in Xi'an, China, incorporates an array of Kvadrat rugs, curtains, and upholsteries. These designs reflect the interior concept, which creates a seamless flow between nature, local culture, and the company's signature Nordic style.
Kvadrat rugs play a part in private and communal areas. Duotone, Semis, and Kanon are specified in the office spaces. The design team chose Merger for the reception area and Bold for the negotiation area.
Kvadrat upholsteries also feature throughout the office. In the reception, the sofa is covered with Coda, which is also used on chairs in the VIP lounge, together with Steelcut Trio and Remix. Steelcut Trio can also be found on chairs in meeting rooms. Elsewhere, Hallingdal 65 is employed on chairs in the negotiation area, while daybeds in the private booths are upholstered with Sonar.
Floor-to-ceiling windows are central to the experience of the ECCO office. To provide control over light and privacy, curtains crafted from Rocket are used in the lounge and the senior management office.
Ming Dang, Chief Designer, HONG Designworks: "As a leading global textile manufacturer, Kvadrat provides our designers with a variety of choices. Kvadrat's materials are environmentally friendly, innovative, durable, and versatile. Their simplicity and colours fit my design well."
The Kvadrat textiles and rugs complement the scale of textures, subtle colours and natural materials at the ECCO office, which incorporates elements that reference local culture. For instance, the wall behind the reception desk comprises leather bricks in assorted tones – a reference to Xi'an's ancient city wall, artworks made by local craftsmen, and Ecco's shoemaking heritage.
