Hyper Urbane
At the Fellow Workspace office hotel, Kvadrat upholstery and curtain textiles are used throughout the public areas. They also form an integral part of the Kvadrat Shade window covering solution at the venue, which overlooks the harbour in the Danish city of Aarhus.
The textiles can be found in lounges, meeting rooms and the café area, and reflect the ‘raw meets warm’ design philosophy. This approach contrasts colours and natural materials with naked industrial elements, the building's concrete core, and the nearby, often windswept, seascape.
Custom seating by Krøyer Gatten plays a central role at Fellow Workspace. Daybeds, dining benches, niche benches and sofas feature Remix in various shades. Elsewhere, Twill Weave, Still, Remix, Balder and Melange Nap are specified on assorted chairs.
Standard furniture from leading manufacturers complements the bespoke pieces. Divans are upholstered in Remix while Re-wool is employed on a bench. Niesen is the chosen textile for the chain-operated brackets Kvadrat Shade roller blind solution installed in meeting rooms.
The Kvadrat curtains at the office hotel, which can be found in meeting spaces and work stations, are crafted from Rocket, Zulu Ginger and Divina. They enable the guests to work in privacy, control light and partition meeting spaces.
Ulf Monrad Gaardsted, owner of Companyons Workspaces: “We chose Kvadrat due to the impeccable quality, the vast range of qualities and designs, the contemporary colours, and the Scandinavian origins - all aspects that match the feeling we aimed to create. The collaboration has been a pleasure too. We felt a sincere and deep interest in our project and our ideas, and received formidable advice and guidance.”
