Solution
Kvadrat solutions include Aerio and Ray 10 curtains for spatial division and acoustic balance, Steelcut Trio 3 upholstery for custom furniture, and Really tabletops for workstations.
A bold and flexible workspace atop one of Berlin’s most forward-thinking buildings, featuring Kvadrat’s textile and surface solutions. Located on the top floor of EDGE East Side Berlin, one of Germany’s most innovative high-rises, this project presents the new headquarters for EDGE Germany. Designed by Studio Frick, the interior encapsulates both the architectural strength of the building and the vibrant urban context of Friedrichshain and Kreuzberg. Ray 10, Aerio curtains, Really tabletops and Steelcut Trio 3 upholstery, play a central role in shaping the tactile and visual experience, bringing texture, warmth and functionality to the space.
A key design feature was the use of curtains to subtly divide open office zones. Each 6-person desk island was enclosed by curtains to create visual separation and provide a sense of privacy without compromising the open-plan layout. These textiles not only support spatial function but reflect EDGE’s commitment to natural materials and design integrity. Combined with Really tabletops, that are made from upcycled textile waste and custom-designed furniture upholstered in Steelcut Trio 3, the solutions support flexibility in daily use.
Kvadrat’s Really tabletops highlight the potential of circular design, reducing textile waste through innovative reuse. Steelcut Trio 3, known for its durability and refined texture, ensures longevity in high-traffic areas, while Ray 10 used on the façade provides both aesthetic consistency and technical performance. Ray 10 provides optimal heat and glare control, enhancing comfort and well-being in the building. These considered choices contribute to a long-lasting interior with minimal impact.
Each Kvadrat solution, whether it’s the adaptable curtain solutions, the robust tabletop surfaces, or the custom upholstery has been selected for its ability to elevate the everyday experience of the workspace. The result is a warm, bold and highly functional environment that supports EDGE’s identity as a leading developer.
