Canton Tower

Project
Information Based Architecture from Amsterdam has chosen Kvadrat textiles for the banquet room seating at the award-winning Canton Tower.

The tower, the tallest structure in China, is simple yet complex. It is designed to be inviting, rich in physical experiences, and to challenge current building technologies. Characterised by smooth, feminine lines, the 600m high structure consists of an open lattice twisted over its axis, which creates a slender, graceful profile. Opened in 2010, it is expected to attract 10,000 visitors a day.

Solution
A total of 1000 seats in banquet rooms upholstered with Field. In all 1420m of textiles was used.
