Project
Kvadrat textiles was selected for the Arlanda Express, a Swedish express train that offers the fastest transport link between Stockholm Central Station and Arlanda Airport. The Arlanda Express, which has been awarded the ‘Good Environmental Choice’ Ecolabel by the Swedish Society for Nature Conservation, carried 2.9 million passengers in 2009.

Solution
Seats made from approximately 4,000 m of Clara in four colours, one of which was specially created for the project. Clara was chosen due to the combination of high-wool content, strength, excellent environmental credentials and good fire resistance. Headboards were made from approximately 300-400 m of Blitz 2.

'We chose Clara because we wanted a strong, fireproof and ecologically-focused fabric with a suit-like look, as the Arlanda Express is primarily used by business travellers and people, who prefer an efficient, nice and relaxing journey. In addition, the fabric met our requirements for life, movement and good colour range.
