Product description

Apo X is our first patterned metallised roller blind textile developed in collaboration with Erwan Bouroullec. Rooted in architectural language, it references the structural rhythm of vertical and horizontal lines found in façades, windows, and frameworks – translating these into a composed textile surface suitable for contemporary interior projects. The design is offered in two distinct line configurations, each exploring variations in density and rhythm. These patterns are carefully calibrated to introduce a sense of spatial order while remaining visually discreet.

Apo X is engineered to meet the practical needs of architectural environments. It supports daylight control, maintains outward visibility, and contributes to acoustic comfort. The metallised backing enhances solar reflection, reducing heat gain and improving visual comfort. Apo X is Cradle to Cradle Certified® Bronze, aligning with Kvadrat’s ongoing focus on responsible material solutions.

Apo X offers a balanced response to architectural and interior requirements – combining technical functionality with a restrained visual identity that complements a wide range of applications.

Performance
  • LightFastness {{site.selectedConfiguration.lightFastness}}

    ISO 105-B02

    Lightfastness relates to the ability of a textile to retain its colour under light. When testing for lightfastness, samples are exposed to artificial daylight for a specified period.

    The evaluation scale ranges from 1 (worst) to 8 (best). An increase of one point corresponds to a doubling of the lightfastness, i.e. the same fading takes twice as long.

  • Exterior LightFastness 7
  • Visual light transmission {{site.selectedConfiguration.lightTransmission}}%

    Light transmittance indicates the percentage of the visible light penetrating the textile. Densely woven textiles in dark colours usually have a lower light transmittance, whereas loosely woven fabrics in light colours allow more light to pass through.

  • Absorption (100 mm) 0.40/Class D (Absorption flat)

    EN ISO 354

    Acoustic absorption is indicated as αw-value which approximately corresponds to the percentage of sound absorbed. For instance, an αw-value of 0,4 translates into 40% absorption of sound.  Acoustic absorption of a textile is measured in its flat and draped state.

  • Airflow 207 Pa s/m

    EN ISO 9053-1

    Airflow resistance influences the sound absorbing qualities of a textile. Typically, the denser the construction of the textile, the higher the value.

  • Fire tests GB 8624 B1 • JIS L 1091 A-1 D • BS 5867 part 2 type B • GB 50222 B1 • EN 13 773 class 1 • EN 13501-1, B-s1, d0 • DIN 4102 B1 • NFPA 701

    Flame retardant performance depends on the type of foam used. There are differing requirements concerning the flame-retardancy of textiles dependent on the area of application, country or even region. Our textiles pass the majority of international standards and are also tested for a selection of regional requirements.

  • Glare control rating {{site.selectedConfiguration.glareControlRating}}

    Optical properties according to EN14500: 2021

  • Solar reflection {{site.selectedConfiguration.solarReflection}}%

    Optical properties according to EN14500: 2021

    The percentage of solar radiation reflected by the textile.

  • Solar transmission {{site.selectedConfiguration.solarTransmissionTs}}%

    Optical properties according to EN14500: 2021

    The percentage of solar radiation penetrating through the textile.

  • Solar absorption {{site.selectedConfiguration.solarAbsorption}}%

    Optical properties according to EN14500: 2021

    The percentage of solar radiation absorbed by the textile.

  • Openness factor {{site.selectedConfiguration.opennessFactor}}%

    The percentage of openings in the textile.

  • g-value/ Solar Heat Gain Coefficient {{site.selectedConfiguration.solarHeatGainThroughTotalFenestration}}%

    Results are based on reference glazing G according to EN14501: 2021.

    The percentage of solar energy that penetrates through glazing and textile. A low value means good thermal performance.

  • Total visual light transmission - based on reference glazing G and according to EN14501:2021 {{site.selectedConfiguration.visualLightTransmissionGlazingTv}}%

    Results are based on reference glazing G acc. to EN14501: 2021.

    The percentage of visible light penetrating through the textile. If too much visible light is transmitted into a room, it creates brightness and glare problems. For rooms with PC workstations, the maximum recommended light transmission depends on the direction in which the window faces:

    North facades: 15–20% light transmission
    West and east facades: 2–6% light transmission
    South facades: 0–5% light transmission

    This is specified by the EU directive 90/270 and ISO 9241.

  • U-value - based on reference glazing G and according to EN14501:2021 {{site.selectedConfiguration.uValueWM2K}}

    Results are based on reference glazing G acc. to EN14501: 2021.

    U-value describes the thermal heat loss (or gain) through a fenestration. The U-value reflects the energy flow through glass and fabric when there is a temperature difference between outside and inside, and is the insulating property. The lower the value, the better the textile's thermal heat insulation properties.
